Interkultur Ruhr beschäftigt sich seit 2016 in Veranstaltungen, einem Förderprogramm und in Netzwerkaktivitäten mit der reichen Vielfalt von Alltagswelten und kultureller Arbeit im Ruhrgebiet. Zur diesjährigen Ausgabe von Ruhr International verwandelt sich das Dampfgebläsehaus der Jahrhunderthalle Bochum in ein "House of Steam":
Seit 2023 bauen Prince Emrah und Interkultur Ruhr mit "House of Namus" im Ruhrgebiet ein Haus für alle, um Menschen in vielfältigen Events wie Cabaret, Party und Gazino zu verbinden.
Am Samstag, den 25. Mai bespielt HoN das Dampfgebläsehaus, diesmal mit einem Disco Cabaret: Mit der Mutter von HoN Prince Emrah, einem Hula Hoop Workshop von Dunja von K, mit Live-Musik von Muhammad Tamim und Band, griechischen Tänzen von Bouboulines Dortmund, Voguing Ballroom Performances von Juana und Crew, Bellydance von Nurr und DJ-Sets von Rubimental und Emrah lädt HoN Besucher:innen ein, so zu feiern, dass sich die Welt Tanzschritt für Tanzschritt verändert.
Die Veranstaltung wird ein aufregender Vorgeschmack auf das erste große House of Namus Festival, das eine Woche später am 1. Juni in Dortmund stattfindet.

ALFREYA & PRINCE EMRAH – Glitzer & Make-Up
Walking Act über das Festivalgelände
Prince Emrah (Pronomen sie/er) ist Bauchtänzerin, DJ, Tanztrainer:in, Visagist:in, Dragqueen in Berlin. Sie ist kurdisch-aserbaidschanischer Abstammung und kam selbst als Geflüchtete nach Deutschland. Seitdem hat sie eine beeindruckende künstlerische Karriere aufgebaut. Prince Emrah ist die Moderatorin der Black & Brown Cabaret Show, der Gayhane Party und des Whoriental Festivals. Emrah ist die Mutter des Künstlerkollektivs QueerBerg, das einen Raum für BIPOC LGBTQIA+ Asylsuchende und Geflüchtete bietet, und sie kuratiert seit 2023 das House of Namus im Ruhrgebiet.

Alfreya Bakla B. ist eine Nurse Drag Queen von den Philippinen, die nach Deutschland gekommen ist, um die Schönheit und Kunst des Landes zu erkunden. Alfreya bezaubert verschiedene Bühnen in Berlin und fördert Spaß und Kunst in einem. Mabumabuhay – die einzige Adobo-Königin der Philippinen!

Bist du bereit, dich zu drehen, zu schwingen und stilvoll zu stolzieren? Mit diesem elektrisierenden Hula-Hoop Disco Workshop kannst du heller strahlen als eine Discokugel! Egal, ob du die funky Beats der Disco-Ära nacherleben oder ein paar coole Moves lernen möchtest – dieser Workshop ist perfekt für alle Altersgruppen und Könnensstufen, geleitet von der herausragenden Dunja von K, die zwei Guinness-Weltrekorde im Hula Hooping hält. MUHAMMAD TAMIM – Konzert
Muhammad Tamim ist Tänzer, Musiker, Choreograf und Theater-Performer, der am Musikkonservatorium und an der Iymar Dance Group Academy in Damaskus / Syrien, studiert hat. Seine Band präsentiert einen musikalischen Beitrag unter dem Titel SAFAR. „Safar“ bedeutet „Reisen“. Das Programm lädt ein zu einer gemeinsamen musikalischen Reise durch die Levante und verschiedene Dimensionen moderner orientalischer Musik.

BOUBOULINES – Queere griechische Tanzgruppe
Die Tanzgruppe „Bouboulines“ besteht aus jungen Menschen unterschiedlicher Herkunft, die gemeinsam griechische Folklore präsentiert. Als Teil von Train of Hope Dortmund e.V. liegt der Fokus darauf, interkulturelles Verständnis und Solidarität aufzubauen und zugleich einen Safer Space für queere Menschen, FLINTA* Personen und Menschen aus religiösen und ethnischen Minderheiten sicher zu stellen. Präsentiert werden Tänze aus allen Regionen, vom Pontus über die Inseln bis nach Epirus, da es nicht „den" griechischen Tanz gibt. Es gilt das Motto: Jeder Ort hat seinen eigenen Tanz!

DJ RUBIMENTAL – DJ-Set
Rubimental ist eine DJ aus Bochum, die in ihren Sets das Beste aus Rap, Dancehall, Afrobeats, Amapiano, Future Beats und Global Bass vereint. Dabei lässt sie sich von anderen female DJs inspirieren, insbesondere DJs of Color. Sie hat bereits für Radiosender auf der ganzen Welt gespielt, darunter Foundation FM (Großbritannien), Boxout FM (Indien), WDR Cosmo (Deutschland) und 8th Path Radio (USA).

VOGUING / BALLROOM SHOWCASE – Tanz & Performance
Die Ballroom Szene entstand in den 60er und 70er Jahren in Harlem, New York. Die Szene ist ein subkultureller Raum, der von der Black-, Latinx-LGBTQIA+ Community kreiert wurde, um sich fernab von der weißen heteronormativen Gesellschaft austauschen zu können. Auf sogenannten Balls treten verschiedene Personen aus der Community in beispielsweise Fashion- oder Performance-Kategorien gegeneinander an.

Zum Abschluss lädt House of Namus zu einem schillernden Disco Cabaret ein, mit DJ-Set und Cabaret Show von Prince Emrah, Bauchtanz mit Nurr Vedosch, Hula-Hoop LED Show mit Dunja von K und Drag Show von und mit allen.

Since 2016, Interkultur Ruhr has been engaging in events, a funding program, and network activities focused on the rich diversity of everyday life and cultural work in the Ruhr area. For this year's edition of Ruhr International, the Dampfgebläsehaus at Jahrhunderthalle Bochum transforms into a "House of Steam":
Since 2023, Prince Emrah and Interkultur Ruhr have been building "House of Namus" in the Ruhr area as a space for everyone, connecting people through diverse events such as cabaret, parties, and gazino. On Saturday, May 25th, HoN will take over the Dampfgebläsehaus with a Disco Cabaret event: featuring HoN's mother Prince Emrah, a Hula Hoop workshop by Dunja von K, live music by Muhammad Tamim and band, Greek dances by Bouboulines Dortmund, Voguing Ballroom performances by Juana and Crew, Bellydance by Nurr, and DJ sets by Rubimental and Emrah. HoN invites visitors to celebrate in a way that changes the world step by step through dance.
The event will serve as an exciting preview of the first major House of Namus Festival, taking place a week later on June 1st in Dortmund.

Prince Emrah (pronouns she/he) is a belly dancer, DJ, dance instructor, makeup artist, and drag queen based in Berlin. She is of Kurdish-Azerbaijani descent and came to Germany as a refugee. Since then, she has built an impressive artistic career. Prince Emrah is the host of the Black & Brown Cabaret Show, the Gayhane Party, and the Whoriental Festival. Emrah is the mother of the QueerBerg artist collective, which provides a space for BIPOC LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers and refugees, and since 2023, she has curated the House of Namus in the Ruhr area.

MUHAMMAD TAMIM – Concert
Muhammad Tamim is a dancer, musician, choreographer, and theater performer who studied at the Music Conservatory and the Iymar Dance Group Academy in Damascus, Syria. His band presents a musical contribution titled SAFAR, which means "Journey." The program invites you to embark on a musical journey through the Levant and various dimensions of modern oriental music.

BOUBOULINES – A queer Greek dancegroup
The dance group "Bouboulines" consists of young people of different backgrounds who come together to showcase Greek folklore. As part of Train of Hope Dortmund e.V., the focus is on building intercultural understanding and solidarity while also providing a safer space for queer individuals, WLINTA* persons (Women, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, Agender), and people from religious and ethnic minorities. The group presents dances from all regions, from Pontus to the islands and Epirus, as there is no single "Greek dance." The motto is: Every place has its own dance!

DJ RUBIMENTAL – DJ-Set
Rubimental is a DJ from Bochum who blends the best of rap, dancehall, Afrobeats, Amapiano, future beats, and global bass in her sets. She draws inspiration from other female DJs, especially DJs of Color. She has played for radio stations around the world, including Foundation FM (UK), Boxout FM (India), WDR Cosmo (Germany), and 8th Path Radio (USA).

VOGUING / BALLROOM SHOWCASE – Dance & Performance
The ballroom scene originated in the 1960s and 1970s in Harlem, New York. It is a subcultural space created by the Black-, Latinx-, LGBTQIA+ community to connect away from the white heteronormative society. At events called balls, individuals from the community compete against each other in categories such as fashion or performance.
